I discovered Children’s Technology Workshop while researching opportunities for creating my own technology curriculum to deliver to students in the Richmond, Virginia area. I was looking for ways to introduce children to technology that would inspire and challenge them while instilling the skills needed to excel in the classroom. Children’s Technology Workshop has created a curriculum that not only encourages children to Explore, Invent, and Create but is founded on solid educational technology pedagogy. This foundation is what sold me on the program.

My education background includes a BS in Education and an M.Ed in Educational Technology. I’ve worked as a K-12 teacher, coach, administrator, university instructor, and a higher education academic technology manager. I’m also a father of four which has provided me with some of the best on the job training you can get!

The Children’s Technology Workshop programs parallel my belief in allowing a child’s natural sense of exploration and creativity to flourish through the use of technology. There is a quote in education that states “teachers should be a guide on the side and not the sage on the stage.” With the Children’s Technology Workshop programs I am able to provide a student-centered learning environment by putting each child in control of their own adventures. This positions them to release their own passions and creativity through the use of technology. I feel privileged to be part of this team and to be able to offer such wonderful programs to the children in the Richmond area.
